Mangat Ram Sharma passes away, Governor, CM express grief

Political stalwart of J&K, veteran Congress leader and former deputy chief minister of the state, Pandit Mangat Ram Sharma, passed away on Thursday morning.

According to family sources, Sharma was not well for the past four months.

Confirming the death of the party stalwart, chief spokesperson of Pradesh Congress Ravinder Sharma said, “The entire rank and file of the Congress expresses deep shock over the sad demise of Sharma and shares the grief of the family.”

Governor N. N. Vohra and Chief Minister, Ms Mehbooba Mufti have expressed grief over the sad demise of Mr Mangat Ram Sharma, former Deputy Chief Minister, whom they had known for many years.

In separate messages of condolence the Governor and CM have prayed for the peace to the departed soul and conveyed their sympathy to the bereaved family.
