BANIHAL, June 8: A truck driver from Pampore was killed after his vehicle overturned on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) near Nachlana in Ramban district on Monday morning, officials said.
The accident occurred when a canter truck bearing registration number JK02DU-9275, travelling from Kashmir to Jammu, overturned near Nachlana, resulting in the driver’s death on the spot.
The deceased was identified as Mohd Zafar, son of Mohd Kassim, a resident of Pampore.
Police and rescue teams rushed to the scene immediately after the accident and shifted the body to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Banihal for medico-legal formalities.
The exact cause of the accident was not immediately known. Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated an investigation. (Agencies)
