NEW DELHI, May 29: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the deadline for submission of bank account details for refund of NEET-UG 2026 examination fees till June 22, following the cancellation of the exam amid allegations of a paper leak.
The agency said around 13 lakh candidates have already updated their bank details on the NEET-UG 2026 registration portal. The extension has been provided to facilitate candidates who are yet to submit their information for processing of refunds.
The NEET-UG 2026 examination, conducted on May 3 for admissions to medical courses, was cancelled on May 12 after allegations of a paper leak surfaced. A re-examination is scheduled to be held on June 21, and the NTA has announced that no fresh examination fee will be charged from candidates.
In continuation of public notices issued on May 12 and May 22, the NTA had opened the facility for submission of preferred bank account details from May 22 to May 26. The deadline has now been extended till June 22 up to 11:50 PM.
Candidates can log in to the NEET-UG 2026 registration portal using their credentials and access the refund link to submit bank account details. The agency has also allowed candidates to upload a cancelled cheque to ensure accuracy of the information provided.
The NTA clarified that once bank account details are submitted, no further modifications will be allowed. Nearly 23 lakh candidates had registered for the examination this year.
The alleged paper leak case is currently under investigation by the CBI. (Agencies)
