Traffic Disruptions Across J&K
Meanwhile, adverse weather conditions triggered landslides and disruptions on several key roads across Jammu and Kashmir.
Traffic on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway remained slow due to landslides between Nashri and Banihal, coupled with single-lane movement at several stretches. Authorities have discouraged night travel due to risks of shooting stones and ongoing construction.
The Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag road remained closed, while the Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri road was open only for regulated traffic due to avalanche risk along the Zojila axis.
The Mughal Road has been kept open for light motor vehicles for limited hours, subject to weather conditions.
Meanwhile, the Bandipora-Gurez road remained shut due to fresh snowfall.
In Reasi district, landslides triggered by heavy rainfall blocked roads in Mahore and Arnas areas, leaving several people stranded. Restoration work is underway, though continuous rain is hampering efforts.
