Srinagar, Apr 2: A 47-year-old driver died and two others were injured after a school van met with an accident near Ghanta Ghar at Lal Chowk in Srinagar on Thursday. All students onboard escaped unhurt.
Officials said the driver, identified as Javeed Ahmad of Umair Abad, Bemina, sustained critical injuries and was immediately shifted to SMHS Hospital, where he later succumbed.
According to officials, Ahmad lost control of the vehicle near SSI Bank Lal Chowk, resulting in a serious crash that left him grievously injured.
Two other persons sustained minor injuries in the incident and are undergoing treatment. Their condition is reported to be stable.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated further investigation. (Agencies)
