New Delhi, Mar 19: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange colour warning for heavy rainfall over Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh until tomorrow, indicating the possibility of significant weather impact in the region.
The IMD has also issued orange alerts for thunderstorms and hailstorms over several parts of North and Central India, including Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Odisha and West Uttar Pradesh.
Thunderstorms and lightning are also expected over parts of Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, North Interior Karnataka, Telangana and Vidarbha during the day.
Similar weather conditions are likely to persist in Coastal Karnataka, Konkan, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Jharkhand, Kerala, Mahe, West Bengal, Sikkim and the Northeastern states, the IMD said. (Agencies)
