Kathua, Jan 15: Joint search operations were launched by the police, Army and CRPF in different areas of Kathua district following reports of suspected movement, officials said. The operations were led by Deputy Inspector General of Police, JSK Range, Shiv Kumar.
The searches were conducted in Jakhole and Saghroon villages after two suspects were reportedly spotted in the area. Security forces thoroughly combed the Jakhole route of the Suffain area, Sanganoo forest, and locations falling under Police Posts Chingara and Manamal, besides adjoining areas.
In a separate coordinated exercise, joint search operations were also carried out in the Billawar area, including the forest region of Najot village in Kathua district. The surrounding areas were systematically searched as part of the operation.
During the operations, the DIG, accompanied by Senior Superintendent of Police Kathua Mohita Sharma, SP Operations Kathua Mukund, SP Operations Billawar, SDPO Border Kathua, SHO Rajbagh, SHO Billawar and other officers, directed Village Defence Guards to remain extra vigilant in their respective jurisdictions.
The DIG also urged the general public to stay alert and cooperate with security agencies. Locals were advised to immediately inform the nearest police station in case of any suspicious movement or information related to security concerns.
Security officials said the search operations were precautionary measures aimed at ensuring public safety and maintaining law and order in the region. (KNT)
