    BJP to train its first time MLAs ahead of budget session, Workshop on Jan 24-25

    Jammu Tawi, Jan 14: Just before the start of the upcoming budget session of the Assembly of the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), the J&K unit of the BJP will hold a 2–day workshop for all its MLAs to train them on their conduct in the session, making them aware about the sensitive issues to be raised besides training them on does and dont’s.

     

    “The workshop to train all the MLAs of BJP, especially the first timers, will be held on 24th of this month, just days before the start of the Budget session,” BJP MLA, from Jammu East, Yudhvir Sethi, informed the Northlines, while adding, “the venue of the workshop will soon be finalized”.

     

    The workshop will be conducted by the trained and senior functionaries of the BJP having expertise in Parliament and Assembly proceedings.

     

    The experts and the resources persons having expertise in Assembly and Parliament proceedings will preside over the workshop and train all the BJP MLAs, especially the first timers, on how to conduct in the upcoming Budget session as well as the issues to be raised in the session keeping in view the sensitivities of this UT , the sources said.

     

    There BJP has 29 MLAs in the J&K Assembly, out of which around 11 are the first timers who have been elected as MLAs.

     

    They are namely, Shagun Parihar from Kishtwar, Yudhvir Sethi from Jammu East, Arvind Gupta from Jammu West, Dr Narinder Raina, Dr Rajeev Bhagat from Bishnah, Mohan Bhagat from Akhnoor, Kuldeep Dubey from Reasi, Satish Sharma from Reasi Assembly segment, and Devayani Rana from Nagrota.

     

    This workshop is especially aimed at training the first time MLAs of the BJP regarding their conduct in the Assembly and on how to raise sensitive issues in the House, sources said.

     

    The resource persons will also appraise the MLAs regarding issues to be raised in the House keeping in view the public and party’s interest, sources said.
