There is no doubt that India proved its military superiority and dominance over Pakistan during Operation Sindoor by decimating the rogue country’s strategic installations which were helping to fuel terrorism in J&K and other parts of the country.
But one thing, which the country has learned in this military conflict is that modern warfare has transformed in many ways as foot soldiers and even traditional fighter jets have lost relevance, and advanced drones and missile systems have taken over besides the air defence systems to intercept the missile and drone attacks.
Going by these changes, it has become imperative for India to invest more and more in making such systems robust by acquiring the most advanced versions of attack drones, deadly fighter jets and foolproof air defence system. Indian Defence forces have no doubt shown extraordinary valour and phenomenal skills in countering the projectiles coming from the adversary side during the aforesaid military conflict but there were incidents where some of the enemy drones somehow managed to cross the defence line and reached in the Indian Territory.
The motive of the helmsmen should now be to upgrade the defence systems in a manner that not even a single enemy drone can subdue the same to incur losses inside Indian Territory. Besides, it has become more than necessary for the country to acquire the latest advanced drone technology to make attack-ready Unmanned Aerial Vehicles capable of crushing the strategic installations of the adversaries making them powerless and defenceless.
Although India has been working to achieve this target sooner than later, looking at the changing scenario across the world with regard to military conflicts, it has become necessary that the objectives must be achieved in a fast-paced manner without any delay and delinquency.
Reportedly, the Army Commander Northern Command has visited the Centre of Expertise for Drone Fabrication, Maintenance and Repair and reviewed facilities aimed at maintaining operational readiness and technological edge. It is imperative that all necessary steps should be taken for enhancing the Army’s operational capabilities as infrastructure supporting the sustained serviceability of unmanned systems required for modern battlefield operations has become the need of the hour.
All said and done, ensuring high equipment readiness and preparedness to meet emerging challenges of future warfare is something which cannot be compromised especially after taking the cue from the experience which India had during the Operation Sindoor. Therefore, it is vital to remain focused on leveraging advanced technology and indigenous expertise to remain fully combat-ready to counter any defence challenge in the coming time.
