Srinagar, Nov 28: Srinagar Police, assisted by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), on Friday morning launched a cordon-and-search operation (CASO) in Lal Chowk, officials said.
They said the operation was conducted as part of heightened security measures in the busy commercial hub, where multiple teams carried out surprise checks in several hotels and guest houses to verify visitor records and ensure compliance with security protocols.
The search continued for several hours, and no suspicious activity was detected till last reports came in.
Officials said such exercises are routinely conducted to maintain vigilance and ensure a secure environment in the city. (KNC)
