LUCKNOW, Nov 28: President Droupadi Murmu on Friday said that the ancient Indian philosophy of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ — the world is one family — has become even more relevant in the face of today’s unprecedented global challenges.
She was speaking at the launch of the Brahma Kumaris’ annual theme for 2025–26, ‘Meditation for World Unity and Trust’, held here.
Murmu said India’s ancient civilisation and cultural heritage have long upheld the principle of universal brotherhood, a value that has gained renewed importance as the world confronts rising uncertainty and widespread challenges. “In today’s world, which is facing uncertainties and global challenges, it is a message that becomes more relevant,” she said.
Despite being more educated and technologically advanced than ever, she noted, humanity continues to struggle with growing stress, mental insecurity, mistrust and loneliness.
“The need of the hour is not just to move forward, but also to look within oneself,” the President added. (Agencies)
