Jammu, Sept 30: The Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) has announced revised school timings for both Government and Private (recognized) schools across Jammu Division, effective from October 1, 2025.
According to Order No. 368-DSEJ of 2025, schools in the Summer Zone will function from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM during October. However, beginning November 1, 2025, timings will shift to 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM, except for institutions within Jammu Municipal Corporation limits and adjoining urban areas, where the existing 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM schedule will continue.
In the Winter Zone, schools will operate from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM starting October 1, 2025.
The order, issued by the Director of School Education Jammu, supersedes all previous directives on the subject. Schools deviating from the notified schedule will face strict action as per rules.
Officials have urged all stakeholders to take note of the new timings and ensure compliance. The directive has been circulated to the School Education Department, Divisional Commissioner, Deputy Commissioners of concerned districts, and the Information Department for wide publicity.
