Mumbai-Delhi IndiGo Flight Faces Bomb Threat, Emergency Declared

New Delhi, Sept 30: An IndiGo flight from Mumbai to Delhi received a bomb threat on Tuesday morning, prompting a full emergency declaration at the Delhi airport, officials said.

Flight 6E 762, operated by an Airbus A321 neo aircraft, was carrying around 200 passengers when the threat was reported. The aircraft landed safely at 7.53 am, according to flight tracking data from Flightradar24.

A spokesperson for IndiGo confirmed a “security threat” was noticed on board and said authorities were immediately informed. “We fully cooperated with the relevant agencies in carrying out necessary security checks before the aircraft was cleared for operations,” the airline said in a statement.

Sources said security agencies later found the bomb threat to be non-specific. In line with protocol, passengers were provided refreshments and regular updates to minimise inconvenience. Authorities are investigating the origin of the threat. (Agencies)
