Dhar (Madhya Pradesh), Sep 17: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said Indian soldiers forced Pakistan to its knees “in the blink of an eye” during Operation Sindoor, underscoring the government’s resolve to prioritize national security.
Modi was addressing a gathering after laying the foundation stone for the Pradhan Mantri Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Park in Dhar district. He also launched the ‘Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar’ and the ‘8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah’ campaigns aimed at strengthening women’s health services and promoting nutrition.
The Prime Minister invoked the spirit of swadeshi, urging citizens to support Indian-made products during the festive season. “Whatever you buy should be made in our country and carry the fragrance of the soil of India,” he appealed.
On national security, Modi recalled the recent military strike:
“Terrorists who came from Pakistan attempted to tarnish the dignity of our daughters and sisters. Responding through Operation Sindoor, we destroyed the terror launch pads. Our brave soldiers brought Pakistan to its knees in the blink of an eye,” he said.
Marking Hyderabad Liberation Day, Modi also paid tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, recalling September 17, 1948, when the Indian Army liberated Hyderabad. “It safeguarded the rights of its people and reinstated India’s pride,” he said, noting that a grand celebration was being held in Hyderabad today.
The visit, coinciding with Modi’s 75th birthday, marked his second trip to Madhya Pradesh on the day. In 2022, he had released eight cheetahs from Namibia into Kuno National Park. The crowd greeted him with birthday wishes during the programme. (Agencies)
