    J&K: Army jawan killed in accidental firing in Ganderbal

     

    SRINAGAR, Aug 31: A soldier of the Army’s Rashtriya Rifles died after his service rifle went off accidentally in Ganderbal district, officials said on Sunday.

     

    The incident occurred on Saturday night when Constable Chotu Kumar jumped from a truck upon reaching the Manasbal area. His rifle’s trigger reportedly pressed accidentally, causing a bullet injury below the chin that led to his instant death.

     

    Officials confirmed it was a case of accidental fire, and further formalities have been completed.
