Jammu Tawi: Adverse weather conditions have severely damaged the Jal Shakti (PHE) Department’s infrastructure and disrupted power supply, resulting in water supply disruptions in several areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
Officials said restoration work is underway, but services are likely to remain affected until damaged infrastructure and electricity connections are fully restored.
Residents have been urged to use water judiciously and restrict its use to drinking purposes only. “We request the public to cooperate during this crisis and avoid wastage. Efforts are being made to restore normal water supply at the earliest,” a department spokesperson said.
Heavy rains and floods have already caused widespread damage across the Union Territory, hitting power supply, roads, and other essential services. The Jal Shakti Department assured that teams are working round the clock to repair pipelines and restore supply in the affected areas. Authorities also appealed to people for patience and understanding until full restoration is achieved.
