In violation of own orders, Director School Education has attached teachers in his office for the past more than four years.
According to sources, two teachers from Government High School, Barnada, have been attached to the Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) office for the past four years, despite a circular explicitly ordering the cessation of such attachments.
“The circular, issued on March 23, 2025, by the Director of School Education, mandates that all Heads of Institutions (HOIs) submit detailed information regarding staff attachments and deployments, emphasizing that no official should be deployed beyond the provided details without proper justification,” said sources, adding that the implicated teachers in zone Lower Hathal in Tehsil Sunderbani, Rajouri
have reportedly been stationed at the DSEJ office in Muthi Camp, Jammu, since 2021.
The circular required HOIs to certify that no staff has been deployed elsewhere and to fill out a prescribed Form with accurate details of attachments, accessible via a specified link.
“If the Director has the power to issue such an order, why hasn’t he acted to enforce it in this case? Are separate orders needed for these two teachers?” asked sources, adding that the circular was part of an on-going effort to streamline administrative processes and ensure efficient staff deployment within the School Education Department.
It directed all HOIs and Chief Education Officers across the Jammu Division to comply and submit district-wise information within a specified timeframe.
However, the continued attachment of the two teachers has fueled speculation about internal discrepancies or oversight within the Directorate.
The Directorate has been urged to clarify whether a special order will be issued for the affected teachers or if this reflects a broader challenge in implementing the new policy.
