Cleanliness Survey: Indore retains top ranking for 8th consecutive time

New Delhi, July 17 – Indore has once again clinched the title of India’s cleanest city, marking its eighth consecutive win in the government’s annual Swachh Survekshan rankings. Surat and Navi Mumbai followed closely, securing the second and third spots, respectively.

The 2025 rankings, announced on Thursday, also saw Noida top the category for cities with 3-10 lakh population, with Chandigarh and Mysore rounding out the top three in that segment.

President Droupadi Murmu presented the awards at a ceremony in New Delhi, celebrating the achievements of top-performing cities under the Swachh Bharat Mission. The event was also attended by Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal and other dignitaries.

The annual cleanliness survey evaluates cities across multiple parameters including sanitation, waste management, and citizen feedback, aiming to promote healthy, sustainable urban living across India. (Agencies)
