Jammu Tawi: Five people were killed and 17 others injured when a tempo traveller skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, officials said.
The accident occurred on the Doda-Bharth road near Ponda when the driver lost control of the vehicle while navigating a blind curve. Rescue teams rushed to the scene, recovering three bodies initially and transporting 17 injured passengers to a nearby hospital.
Authorities have confirmed that the rescue operation is still ongoing. The condition of some injured passengers is reported to be critical.
