SC to hear pleas over NEET-PG transparency on August 3

New Delhi, Jul 14:  The Supreme Court on Monday scheduled a hearing for August 3 to address multiple petitions challenging the transparency of the NEET-PG examination process, particularly the release of answer keys and evaluation methods.

A bench comprising Justices K Vinod Chandran and NV Anjaria heard the matter briefly before setting the next date for a detailed hearing.

One of the key pleas, filed through advocate Tanvi Dubey, criticized the National Board of Examinations (NBE) for an allegedly opaque evaluation system. The petition seeks the immediate release of question papers and answer keys to candidates, and the disclosure of which questions were marked correct or incorrect.

The plea further demands provisions for candidates to request revaluation or rechecking in cases of suspected score discrepancies. It also urges the institution of a transparent and accountable evaluation process for NEET-PG going forward.

Petitioners argue that the current lack of clarity undermines the credibility of the national-level medical exam and violates the rights of aspirants preparing for a crucial career-defining test. (Agencies)
