Punjabi actress Tania’s father shot at Moga Clinic; Condition critical, probe underway

Moga, July 4 – Anil Jit Singh Kamboj, father of Punjabi actress Tania, was critically injured after being shot by two unidentified assailants at his clinic, Harbans Nursing Home, in Kot Ise Khan, Moga district on Friday afternoon.

According to eyewitnesses, two men on a motorcycle entered the clinic pretending to be patients. While Dr. Kamboj was attending to others, the attackers engaged him in conversation before suddenly opening fire. He sustained two gunshot wounds and was rushed to a private hospital in Moga, where he remains in critical condition.

Police suspect the attack may be linked to prior threats Kamboj had reportedly received, though no formal complaint had been lodged. “The attackers clearly had a plan. They fired at close range and fled the scene immediately,” said the Moga Superintendent of Police, adding that all angles, including extortion threats, are under investigation.

Authorities have cordoned off the clinic while forensic teams examine the site. CCTV footage from surrounding areas is being reviewed, and multiple checkpoints have been set up across the district to locate the suspects.

Actress Tania issued an emotional statement on Instagram requesting privacy. “This is an extremely critical and emotional time for her and her family,” the post read. “We urge everyone to respect their space and avoid speculation.”

A dedicated police team is spearheading the investigation as the manhunt intensifies. (Agencies)
