Baramulla, Jan 26: On India’s 76th Republic Day, the Indian Army unfurled the national flag in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district, marking a significant moment of patriotism and pride. The ceremony was part of nationwide celebrations as the country comes together to honor the Constitution and democratic values.

In the capital, grand celebrations at Kartavya Path showcased India’s rich cultural diversity, military strength, and development. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto graced the occasion as the chief guest, while President Droupadi Murmu led the celebrations. The Indian Army’s contingent, including the 61 Cavalry, the only active horsed cavalry regiment in the world, participated in the parade, followed by mechanized columns and marching contingents.

This year’s event introduced a tri-services tableau under the theme “Shashakt aur Surakshit Bharat,” symbolizing integration and cooperation among the armed forces. Around 10,000 special guests, including outstanding performers and beneficiaries of government schemes, attended the parade, reflecting the government’s focus on increasing public involvement in national events.
