WASHINGTON, Jan 19: Business tycoon Mukesh Ambani and his wife Nita will attend US President-elect Donald Trump’s second inauguration on January 20, after receiving a personal invitation from the Trump family. The couple, who arrived in Washington on January 18, were part of an exclusive group of 100 attendees at a candlelit dinner hosted by Trump the evening before.
Sources revealed that the Ambanis were possibly the only Indians at the dinner, where they met Vice President-elect JD and Usha Vance. Their presence at the inauguration follows their close ties with the Trump family, with Mukesh Ambani having attended events such as Ivanka Trump’s visit to Hyderabad in 2017 and President Trump’s visit to India in 2020.
The inauguration, expected to be a star-studded affair, will also see attendance from high-profile figures such as Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Tim Cook, Mark Zuckerberg, and top US politicians including President Joe Biden and former Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton.
The Ambanis are reciprocating a previous visit by Ivanka Trump and her family, who attended their son Anant’s pre-wedding celebrations in Jamnagar, Gujarat, in March 2024. While many wealthy donors have pledged large contributions to the inauguration committee, the Ambanis were personally invited by the Trump family, highlighting their strong relationship.
