Jammu Tawi:  Sunil Dimple, President of the Mission Statehood Jammu Kashmir, joined the grand Christmas procession in Jammu on Friday, which celebrated the birth of Jesus Christ and prayed for peace, progress, and the restoration of the Jammu and Kashmir state. The procession, which started from New Plot-Janipur High Court Road, passed through various parts of Jammu city, with thousands of Christians, including church members, joining in.

The procession was led by Head Priest David Sidu of the New Plot Church and featured decorated vehicles adorned with Santa Claus outfits, angels, and scenes of Mary and Joseph, the parents of Jesus, riding on vehicles. The grand celebration showcased vibrant floats, with many community members dressing as angels and other Christmas figures.

Sunil Dimple, who was the chief guest, offered prayers to Jesus Christ, praying for the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir as a state, peace, normalcy, and prosperity in the region. He also wished the Christian community a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Dimple expressed his dissatisfaction with the current status of Jammu and Kashmir during his recent meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah, emphasizing the need for the state’s restoration.

Priest David Sidu thanked Sunil Dimple for joining the celebration and invited everyone to participate in the larger celebration scheduled for December 25. The procession received warm support from people of all religions, who welcomed it as it passed through the streets of Jammu.
