    Jaipur, December 20: A horrific collision involving a gas tanker and multiple vehicles on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway on Friday morning led to a deadly inferno, killing seven people and injuring more than 35. The crash caused flames to engulf over 30 vehicles, with thick black smoke visible from nearly a kilometer away.

    Eyewitnesses described the scene with shock, including a school van driver who recounted seeing a man engulfed in flames. Police stated that some victims might not have been able to escape their vehicles, and the full extent of the tragedy will become clearer after a thorough inspection of all the vehicles involved.

    Rajasthan Health Department officials confirmed the death toll of seven and reported more than 35 people were injured in the crash. Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar rushed to SMS Hospital, where the injured were being treated. Sharma met with hospital staff and issued directions to ensure proper medical care. He also visited the crash site and spoke with police officials.

    In a message posted on X, the Chief Minister expressed his condolences, stating, “Deeply saddened to hear the news of casualties in the gas tanker fire incident. I immediately went to SMS Hospital and directed doctors to provide necessary medical facilities to the injured.” Jaipur Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph was also present at the scene, coordinating the response.
