Mumbai, Dec 18: State-owned helicopter services operator Pawan Hans has secured a significant 10-year contract worth over Rs 2,141 crore to provide four helicopters for ONGC’s offshore operations. The contract, awarded through competitive global bidding, mandates the deployment of four HAL-manufactured Dhruv NG helicopters for transporting personnel to offshore duty locations.
The contract, which is valued at over Rs 2,141 crore, will commence next year and spans a decade. The helicopters, which are the indigenously built civil variant of the Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) Mk III, are produced by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and are widely used by the Indian defense forces. With a proven track record, these helicopters have been in operation for over 375,000 flight hours across more than 335 units in service.
Pawan Hans, which currently operates a fleet of 46 helicopters, provides air services to the oil and gas sector, police, paramilitary forces, and remote regions. The new contract further strengthens the company’s presence in the aviation sector, particularly in offshore operations.
