    Jammu Tawi: The Jammu University Research Scholars Executive Association (JURSEA) elected its new team with unanimous consensus at a gathering of research scholars held today at Jantar Mantar. Around 100 scholars participated in the event, marking a significant moment for the community as they elected their office bearers with full support. The newly elected office bearers are:

    President: Anirudh Raina, School of Tourism and Hospitality Management,

    Vice President Gagandeep Singh Sasan, Department of English, Vice President Divyam Kalsotra, Department of Law, The General Secretaries representing various streams include:

    Anjum Imtiaz (Biotechnology), Tahir Shakeel (Sociology), Manik Sharma (Economics)

    Mukhtar (Botany), Ankush Sharma (DSRS) Suhail Ahmad (Remote Sensing), Sumeet Kumar (Law Department), Amir Malik from the Department of Management was appointed to handle Public Relations and Liaoning. The event was moderated by Divyam Kalsotra, who also announced the new team. In his presidential address, Raina emphasized key issues that need immediate attention, such as increasing the pay for contractual faculty in line with UGC norms, prioritizing University of Jammu alumni for permanent recruitment, and addressing academic grievances regarding GATE and research scholarships. He also expressed concern over the absence of student elections since 2017, leaving research scholars without a proper platform.

    Raina assured the gathering of his commitment to addressing these concerns and urged all research scholars to actively support JURSEA’s efforts for positive change. The election and subsequent address highlighted the scholars’ unity and determination to strengthen their representation at the university.
