Jammu Tawi, Dec 5: Jammu and Kashmir Police, in coordination with the Border Security Force (BSF), conducted a joint patrol along the Indo-Pakistan border in the Akhnoor-Pargwal area, covering the River Chenab, which serves as the natural boundary between the two countries.

The patrol, led by senior officers including Deputy Inspector General of Jammu, Shiv Kumar Sharma, SSP Jammu, Joginder Singh, and SP Rural, Brijesh Kumar, aimed to enhance security along the border. BSF officers also participated in the exercise. The patrol focused on reviewing the security and border management grid for various villages along the Chicken Neck border, such as Gardkhal, Malabella, Sohan, and Kanhachak.

During the patrol, the officers interacted with local residents to strengthen police-public cooperation and encourage timely information sharing, which is vital for maintaining border security. Additionally, the patrol team inspected local water bodies such as streams, rivers, and canals to ensure no security threats could infiltrate through these routes.
