    J&K: 2 OGWs of LeT arrested, Arms & Ammunition Recovered in Kulgam

    Srinagar, Dec 5, 2024: Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested two Over Ground Workers (OGWs) associated with The Resistance Front (TRF), a militant offshoot of the banned Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) outfit, in Kulgam district. The arrests were made on Thursday, and a significant cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from their possession.

    The arrested individuals have been identified as Altaf Ahmad Lone, a resident of Kachoora Zadoora, and Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Nipora, Mirbazar. They were apprehended at Ghulab Bagh Qazigund during the investigation of an ongoing case, FIR number 262/2024, registered at the Qazigund police station under relevant sections of the law.

    During questioning, the accused revealed that they were in possession of arms and ammunition. Acting on their disclosures, police recovered two AK 56 rifles, four AK series magazines, and 79 live cartridges of the AK series.

    The two suspects were reportedly working under the guidance of a Pakistani handler, identified as Hamza Bhai, and were planning to execute terror activities in the region.

    The investigation into the case is ongoing.
