Udhampur, Dec-3: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday detained two female Over Ground Workers (OGWs) under the Public Safety Act (PSA) in Udhampur district. The detained individuals, identified as Maryama Begum, wife of Mohammad Shafeeq, a resident of Loudhara, Basantgarh, and Arshad Begum, wife of the late Jamal Din, a resident of Rai Chak, Basantgarh, were assessed to be a significant threat to the state’s security. According to the police, both women were involved in providing logistical support to terrorist groups and acting as guides and facilitators for militants. Their activities were deemed to pose a serious risk to public safety and the overall security of the region. As a result, the authorities decided to detain them under PSA to prevent further criminal activities and maintain peace and order in the state.
