Udhampur: The body of a former Village Defense Guard (VDG) member, Ashok Kumar (45), was found in mysterious circumstances in the Chapper area of Udhampur district on Tuesday. Kumar, a resident of Chapper, was found with his rifle (303) in the nearby forest. Police officials rushed to the spot after the discovery and took possession of the body for medico-legal formalities. A case has been registered, and investigations are currently underway to determine the cause of death.
