    Kapurthala/ Jalandhar: Rail Coach Factory (RCF) continues its journey on setting new benchmarks in the production of world-class passenger coaches, contributing significantly to the modernization of the nation’s Railways. The most recent innovations include the “Amrit Bharat” coaches, which embody the aspirations of the common man by offering comfort, safety, and modern amenities at affordable costs. Addressing the media on his maiden visit to the rail coach factory Kapurthala, S. Ravneet Singh Minister of state for railways and food processing Industries said that Amrit Bharat train is launched for the travel of common man, this year more than 50 amrit bharat trains will be rolled out which will have Non AC sleepers.  RCF will make 05 Amrit Bharat rakes with 22 coaches this year. Amrit Bharat Coaches will have 8 sleeper, 11 general, 1 pantry, 2 SLRD and one loco with better astehitics of berth with enhanced look, CCTV, improved LED lighting, Fire suppression system, foldable snack table and bottle holder, mobile charger and external LED lights for lighting up automatically in case of any untoward incident during night. Bittu futher said that “Vande Bharat” and “Vande Metro” train sets showcase India’s foray into high-speed rail, featuring state-of-the-art technology, contemporary design, and superior performance standards are also being manufactured by RCF. The first Vande Metro rake with 16 coaches having 130 kmph speed potential for Short Distance Intercity Travel , will be flagged off shortly, which will give the short-distance rail travellers a new kind of rail travel experience. The vande metro with carrying capacity of 4364 will have route map indicator, CCTV, Divyangjan passenger toilet, emergency talk back unit inside and outside the seating area, train collision avoidance system and passenger information system. 2 rakes of “Vande Bharat” train set with speed potential of 160 kmph will also be manufactured this year.

    The Minister further said that 338 km long Jammu-Baramulla Railway Line ,  Udahmpur – Srinagar- Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) is an important project of Indian Railways which aims to connect Kashmir Valley with Jammu Railway Station and then with the rest of the country. Ravneet also said that RCF has also been given the responsibility of making 160 kmph speed Safe Speed self propelled Accident Relief Vehicle (SPART) and 130 Kmph Safe Speed self propelled Induction Car (SPIC).
