Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha made an inspection trip to Baltal Base Camp in Ganderbal district today to review preparations for the sacred Amarnath Yatra. At the base camp launching point for the pilgrimage, the LG assessed security measures and amenities provided for pilgrims along the route to the holy Amarnath cave shrine. Sinha checked facilities such as medical services, oxygen supplies, drinking water, food stalls, sanitation facilities and mobile network connectivity established at camps set up en route for pilgrims. Ensuring a safe and comfortable experience for the thousands of devotees undertaking the annual journey is a top priority for the administration. With the yatra season soon approaching, on-site reviews allow any gaps to be addressed before the pilgrims begin their trek.
