Kerala Honours Talent Behind Award-Winning Malayalam Film
The Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan, recently recognized the outstanding contributions of the cast and crew involved in the Malayalam film “All We Imagine As Light”. This movie had achieved international acclaim by winning the prestigious Grand Prix award at the Cannes Film Festival.
The film created history by becoming the first Indian movie to be selected for the main competition segment at Cannes in over three decades. It explores the lives of two nurses from Kerala as they navigate personal challenges and undergo a transformation during a trip.
CM Vijayan met with and congratulated the four talented Malayali actors – Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha, Azees Nedumangad and Hridhu Haroon – for their compelling performances in the film. Renowned cinematographer Santosh Sivan, who received the Pierre Angenieux ExcelLens in Cinematography Award at Cannes, was also honored for his exceptional work behind the camera.
In a social media post, the Chief Minister praised the entire team for proudly representing Indian cinema on the global stage. He shared a picture with the cast and crew, while stating that the ceremony was kept low-key in light of the tragic events in Kuwait. Vijayan wished all the artists greater successes in the future through their contributions to the film industry.
