Welcome 2022! The world enters a new threshold to counter pandemic, economic crisis, terrorism and extremism, hunger and poverty, global warming and many battles to be fought. The hope is not lost.
Various countries have various problems. But the fight to stay alive and spirit to survive remains the same. People want everything to be in order. So, a new order would surely dawn and we all would be bracing it up, of course with time.
Prime Minister Modi greeting people said, ‘May this year bring abundance of joy and good health in everyone’s lives. May we keep scaling new heights of progress and prosperity, and work even harder to fulfill the dreams of our great freedom fighters!“ Though celebrations are low-key due to Covid threat, the zeal and enthusiasm is not lost. Prayers at religious places, excitement at homes were the same.
In J&K, cloudy and cold weather has somehow dampened the festive mood, coupled with a fiat of night curfew. With parties and other events regulated due to a resurgence of Covid-19 cases, the enthusiasm at social clubs, hotels remained at low key, a far cry from their usual extravaganza in a normal year.
Political developments like proposals of the Delimitation Commission are generating heat but it would not be enough to melt the ice frozen over the misdeeds of those who now cry foul over rectification of their machinations and long held deprivation of Jammu Province.
They are still under the inebriated hangover and have yet not reconciled to the political reality in Jammu Kashmir. Pray, good sense prevails upon them in the interest of peace and progress of this region. They have to shun the rhetoric. Sooner the better! The youth of Kashmir valley should also see that the people, who sowed the seeds of unachievable dreams in their mind, are now trackless and jobless. To fulfill the aspirations of their loving parents, kith and kin are more important for them than to become the fodder for the guns.
Though the Administration has been claiming to have taken many measures to uplift the plight of people of this erstwhile state and ushering into a new era of progress and prosperity in coming years, the real transformation will only be realized when it is perceptible on the ground. Let us hope that the Good Days for J & K will be a reality soon.
Hopefully 2022 will provide more confidence to face problems and challenges. Let’s stand up and stay healthy and strong.
