Covid: 2 dead, 123 positive in J&K

    Jammu Tawi, Dec 31: Jammu and Kashmir Friday reported two more deaths and 123 fresh positive cases of COVID-19, thus taking the number of total active cases in the Union Territory to 1,337.

    With two more deaths, the death toll in J&K has reached to 4,528 and 123 fresh positive cases reported on Friday have pushed the tally of positive cases to 341,290.

    Of the exact number of 341,290 cases, 215,050 are from Kashmir division and 126,240 from Jammu division.

    Among 123 new cases, 65 belong to Kashmir division while as 58 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 215,050 including 211,806 recoveries and 2,329 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 126,240 including 123,619 recoveries and 2,199 deaths.

    The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,337 including 915 from Kashmir division and 422 from Jammu division.

    With 78 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 335,425 which is 98.28 percent of the total cases.

    “Cases tested positive in J&K include 35 from Srinagar, 12 from Baramulla, 05 from Budgam, 05 from Pulwama, 04 from Kupwara, 00 from Anantnag, 00 from Bandipora, 04 from Ganderbal, 00 each from Kulgam and 00 Shopian in Kashmir division while as 58 from Jammu division include 29 from Jammu division, 00 from Udhampur, 06 from Rajouri, 12 from Doda, 01 from Kathua, 01 from Samba, 01 from Kishtwar, 01 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 07 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
