Two die; 137 fresh cases reported in J&K

    Jammu Tawi, Dec 25: Jammu and Kashmir Saturday reported two more deaths and 164 fresh positive cases of COVID-19, thus taking the number of total active cases in the Union Territory to 1,355.

    With two more deaths – one each in Srinaga and Budgam in Kashmir Division, the death toll in J&K has reached 4,521 and 164 fresh positive cases reported on Saturday have pushed the tally of positive cases to 340,598.

    Of the exact number of 340,598 cases, 214,587 are from Kashmir division and 126,011 from Jammu division.

    Among 164 new cases, 124 belong to Kashmir division while as 40 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 214,587 including 211,256 recoveries and 2,325 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 126,011 including 123,466 recoveries and 2,196 deaths.

    The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,355 including 1,006 from Kashmir division and 349 from Jammu division.

    With 124 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 334,722 which is 98.27 percent of the total cases.

    “Cases tested positive in J&K include 51 from Srinagar, 29 from Baramulla, 09 from Budgam, 08 from Pulwama, 03 from Kupwara, 00 from Anantnag, 06 from Bandipora, 16 from Ganderbal, 01 each from Kulgam and 01 Shopian in Kashmir division while as 40 from Jammu division include 19 from Jammu division, 04 from Udhampur, 01 from Rajouri, 05 from Doda, 01 from Kathua, 01 from Samba, 05 from Kishtwar, 04 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
