Jammu Tawi: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has announced the regularisation and promotion of 59 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySPs) to the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP), Level-11 of the Pay Matrix (Rs 67,700–Rs 2,08,700). The decision was formalised through Government Order No. 548-Home of 2024 issued on December 3. The order brings significant career advancements for the officers, some of whom have received notional promotions dating back several years.
The promotions are based on recommendations from the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (PSC) as per Letter No. PSC/DPS/Home/6/2024-05. The regularisation of these officers is subject to any pending court proceedings or legal outcomes that may affect their status.
