4 suspended for unauthorised absence

Date:

Punctuality monitoring begins at , no such order for Srinagar

Jammu Tawi, August 11: One of the official teams on Wednesday in a surprise inspection found three employees of Directorate of Stationery and Office Supplies at Jammu unauthorised absence and ordered suspension of the absentees who were Tarsem Lal Statistical Assistant, Pardeep Kumar, Junior Statistical Assistant and Raj Kumar, Orderly.  In another sudden inspection, the team suspended Orderly Lakhay Verma who was found on unauthorised absence. Later the team visited the Government Ranbir Press at Ambphalla and carried verification of records for which the report is still awaited.

The official team was led by Abdul Majid Bhat, Secretary, ARI & Trainings, Suresh Koul, Director, Finance and Noor Alam, Deputy Secretary.

The government on Tuesday vide its order 703 (GAD) dated 10.08.2021 has constituted five teams of official headed by senior officers to monitor punctuality in various department of Civil Secretariat Jammu to hold surprise checks at 10.00 AM and 5.00 PM on different days from Monday to Friday and to report unauthorised absence of employees to the General Department for appropriate disciplinary action. However, whether a similar order has been issued for civil secretariat too is not known as the same is not uploaded on GAD Website.

Notably, the rationale behind notifying two fixed timings of 10.00 AM and 5.00 PM for visiting departments by the teams may not yield the desired results in the matter of punctuality as the official working time is 9.30 AM to 5.30 PM in lieu of Saturday off in five-day week working.
