3 dead, 3 police stations torched after Burhan Wani’s death in Kashmir

Kashmir boils with anger as violent protests erupt

Massive violence has rocked Kashmir in a reaction to Burhan Wani's death and Zakir Naik issue. Reports of death of 3 civilians have come in. 2 of them died in firing and one of them drowned as claimed  by the Police. Also, reports of 3 police stations being torched to flames have come in. Earlier, BJP office in Kulgam was ransacked and attacked, however a little less is known about any causalities.

1561983 Amarnath pilgrims have taken a hit in this situation as they have been stuck in the valley amid the boiling violence, which has kept the Government nail biting. No statements of any minister have come in related to this fiasco.

Train services from Baramulla in the Kashmir valley to Banihal town in Jammu have been suspended. The Srinagar -Jammu Highway, that passes through south Kashmir, has also been closed.

Omar Abdullah like always has tweeted seeking pacification of the event but also warned the Government about their flawed plan to deal with the terrorists.

Gulam Nabi Azad has praised the forces for killing BuPatnitop-2rhan Wani and the other militants.

The famous tourist destination of , Patnitop has also taken a hit as reports of vehicles returning with broken glasses have come in lately. Reportedly there is a massive traffic Jam in that region which has kept the Traffic Police Department on its toes.

BSF Bunkers have reportedly been put on fire by the terrorist liking mob after Absentia prayers.

Thousands of people attended the funeral of Hizbul Mujhaideen poster boy, Burhan Wani, who was killed in an encounter on Friday.

Kashmir witnessed huge protests as mob attacked police posts, security personnel and BJP office in Kulgam to protest the death of 21-year-old Burhan, who shot to fame after his asking youth in the Valley to join militancy appeared on social media.

Several separatist leaders including Syed Ali Geelani and Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, who have called for a valley-wide shutdown today to protest against Wani's killing, have been placed under house arrest. Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik was arrested after said he would lead a protest march.

 

Groups of youths pelted stones at police posts and police stations at Bandipora, Qazigund and Larnoo in Anantnag district. 11 persons including three policemen have been injured during the clashes.

Stone pelting incidents were also reported from Sheeri, Kreeri, Delina, Pattan and Palhalan areas of north Kashmir's Baramulla district.

Fearing law and order problems in Kashmir the authorities today suspended the Amarnath Yatra.

Confirming the development, CRPF DG said, “As of now the Amarnath Yatra is suspended, all yatris have been given full protection.”

“The Amarnath Yatra will recommence as soon as the situation improves,” Prasad said.

The government suspended mobile Internet services in Kashmir Valleya and curfew-like restrictions were imposed in parts of the Valley.

Huge number of security personnel have been deployed in areas like Pulwama, Shopian, Ananatnag and Sopore.

The Rail services from Baramulla to Banihal town have also been suspended.

Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah asserted that Wani had become the new ‘icon' for the frustrated and disaffected community in the Valley.

BJP leader Hina Bhatt acknowledged the fact that the separatists always extend their support to terrorist groups.

Wani, who in videos circulated on Facebook and WhatsApp, aimed at recruiting young Kashmiri men for terror, was hunted down by the security forces in an intelligence-led operation last evening.

Wani, the son of a headmaster and a school dropout, carried a reward of Rs 10 lakh on his head.
