Poonch/Bla, Oct 21: An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted in a village of Poonch's Surankote subdivision was destroyed by security forces on Thursday.
The IED was recovered during a search operation in Rattan Pir dhok of Surankote sub division of Poonch district.
Officials said that the IED was recovered and later destroyed by forces by a special squad of army.
They said that Army and police are continuing searches in the area.
In another incident, the security forces on Thursday detected a suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Rafiabad area of Baramulla district.
Officials told that a suspected IED was detected today morning on NH 701 between Chaklu-Tragpura in Rafiabad, Baramulla by the Road Opening Party (ROP) of BSF.
They said that the traffic including Army convoys were halted for safety reasons.
“Bomb Disposal Team from Army camp, Langait reached the spot, which destroyed the IED following which the traffic on highway was resumed,” they said.
