“Communal” political parties not less than ISIS, both kill people: Mehbooba
Jammu, Nov 13 (UNI) Former Jammu & Kashmir chief minister and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday sparked a controversy by stating that the “communal” political parties are not less than ISIS because they both have killed people in the name of religion and communalism.
“The ‘communal parties,' those who are making people fight with each other, creating wedge between Hindus & Muslims, and indulge in lynching & killing of people in the name of religion, can be compared with ISIS and any such outfit because they both have killed people in the name of religion,” Mehbooba told media persons here, on the sidelines of a party workers meet at the PDP headquarters.

Reacting to Salman Khurshid's book, the PDP chief said, “I think it's not about Hindutva or Hinduism, the real Sanatan Dharam doesn't teach communalism. It's RSS, Jansangh and BJP, who are communalizing the situation by making people fight all over the country.
Mehbooba said that they (BJP/RSS) have hijacked Hinduism/Hindutva in the name of their parties because they feel that Hinduism/Hindutva are RSS/BJP, but that is not true.
“As there is a saying “Vasudev Kutumbkam”, which means the whole is a family and Hinduism/Hindutva teaches us that, but the lesson BJP/RSS wants to teach, that is neither Hinduism nor Hindutva,” added the former Chief Minister.

EDUCATION-JK-PAPSK ANNUAL FEE
Schools in Kashmir asking for Annual fee, alleges PAPSK
Srinagar, Nov 13 (UNI) Parents Association of Private Schools of Kashmir (PAPSK) has alleged that some school managements are asking parents to pay the Annual Fee by showing them the orders of Fee and Fund Regulatory Committee (FFRC).
Former Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar, who is the Chairperson of FFRC in a statement, stated that since the FFRC is continuously regulating the Fee Structure of Schools, the school authorities are misleading the parents by saying that the FFRC has fixed their Annual Fee, which means that School Managements have been allowed to charge Annual Fee for the previous academic session and in some cases for the next session.
He said that since the schools are still closed due to COVID-19 pandemic all schools have to abide by the orders of the Government and  FFRC and had to collect only the Tuition Fee only, till the schools reopen.
?The FFRC is performing its statutory function to regulate the Fee Structure of schools.  Besides regulating the Tuition Fee, Annual fee is also being regulated”, reads the statement.
The Government vide circular No:1 Edu of 2020, Dated: 14.05.2020 has directed all schools to charge only Tuition Fee during the COVID-19 pandemic and have directed them not to charge Annual until the schools reopen again.
”The FFRC in its meeting held on 18th March 2021 had unanimously endorsed circular/Government order which is still in force and will continue to remain till the school reopens,” the statement said.
It is accordingly directed that all school managements shall strictly adhere to the government order in respect of charging and collection of Annual Fee, The statement added.

DAK urges people to take precautions to prevent heart attacks, strokes in winter
Srinagar, Nov 13 (UNI)  Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) on Saturday said winter chill in Kashmir valley can increases the risk of heart attack and strokes and advised people to take precautions  to put on warm cloths and avoid walking in the open in the chilly weather.
?While we can't change the weather, we can take precautions to protect ourselves from heath risks of the cold weather. Keep yourself warm to protect from cold temperature. If you move out, dress in layers, wear a hat, gloves and scarf. Avoid going out in the chill for walk and move your workout inside. Manage heart attack and stroke risk factors such as high blood pressure, diabetes, abnormal cholesterol, and tobacco use?, the DAK President and influenza expert Dr Nisar ul Hassan, said in a press statement.
?You are more likely to have a heart attack or stroke during winter months,? said DAK
Dr Hassan said the number of heart attack and stroke patients at Kashmir hospitals doubles during the winters thus increasing the number of deaths.
?Not only elderly people, but young and healthy individuals come to hospitals with massive heart attacks and strokes and some of them are even brought dead,? he said.
Dr Hassan said frigid temperatures constrict blood vessels that increase blood pressure which makes heart attack or stroke more likely.
?The blood tends to be thicker and stickier during extreme cold which makes it easier to clot,? he said.
The DAK President said this winter COVID-19 is also a big factor. If you catch the virus, you are at an increased risk of having a heart attack or stroke. COVID-19 causes acute and severe inflammation that builds up fat deposits in the inner walls of the blood vessels. These fat deposits dislodge and get stuck in heart or brain where they block the blood flow.
?Flu of winter also heightens the risk of these cases,? he said adding lack of sunlight during winter leaves people vitamin D deficient which is associated with increased risk of dying from heart attack or stroke.
diet rich in vegetables and fruits and reduce your stress. If you already have cardiovascular disease, avoid strenuous activities, such as shoveling heavy snow. Get your annual flu shot, Covid-19 vaccine and don't forget to take your vitamin D,? said Dr Nisar.
