Prof. K R Jha, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at SMVDU, delivered the keynote address, emphasizing the university’s efforts in promoting sustainable development through high-quality workshops and awareness programs.
Shruti Khanna, District Coordinator of JKSTIC, discussed the importance of government initiatives in promoting renewable energy adoption and energy conservation at the grassroots level, highlighting the state’s efforts to integrate technology and innovation into energy systems.
Expert sessions included talks by Dr. Sahil Kalra and Dr. Pothukuchi Harish, both Assistant Professors at IIT Jammu. Dr. Kalra focused on energy efficiency in automation, while Dr. Harish discussed simulations for enhancing energy efficiency with practical applications.
Dr. Yatheshth Anand, Head of the School of Mechanical Engineering and program coordinator, addressed global challenges such as climate change and resource depletion, stressing the need for knowledge-sharing to accelerate the transition to a sustainable future. Dr. Ankush Raina, Assistant Professor and organizing secretary, highlighted the critical role of education in driving climate action.
The workshop’s inaugural session was co-coordinated by Dr. Vineet Tyagi, Dean of R&D, and attended by Deans and Heads of various schools. Dr. Ankush Raina concluded the event with a formal vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of all involved.
