JAMMU, Jan 14: The Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) has extended winter vacations for all government and private schools falling in the Summer Zone of Jammu till January 17, 2026, due to prevailing inclement weather conditions.
According to an official order, the extension will apply to both students and teaching staff. However, board examinations for Classes 10th to 12th, if already scheduled, will be conducted strictly as per the notified dates without any change.
The Directorate has also advised schools to explore the possibility of conducting online classes for students of Class 6th and above during the extended vacation period to minimize academic loss.
Meanwhile, officials clarified that preparations related to Republic Day 2026 will continue as per the schedule issued by the competent authorities.
The decision aims to ensure the safety of students and staff while maintaining academic continuity amid adverse weather conditions.
