Actress opens up about 30 KG weight gain struggle due to illness

Popular TV actress Mouni Roy, known for her role in the hit TV show Naagin, recently revealed to have once struggled with a 30 KG weight gain due to issues. Speaking to a media outlet, Roy shared about the difficult phase she went through around 7-8 years ago when she was diagnosed with a L4-L5 slip disc condition and was advised complete bed rest.

Due to the debilitating back pain and her immobility, Roy ended up putting on close to 30 kilos of weight in that period. She mentioned feeling that her life was over at that time as she wasn't able to do anything or meet anyone due to her condition. It was truly a low point for the actress who usually maintains a fit physique.

Once she was able to discontinue the pain medications upon doctor's suggestion, Roy noticed half of the excessive weight was water retention which reduced. However, she still had to work hard on getting back in shape. The actress switched to a balanced diet of home cooked meals with proteins, carbs and nutrients while focusing on yoga and light exercises as per medical advice. She ate small yet frequent meals throughout the day.

Through disciplined efforts on diet and workout routines over several months, Roy was able to successfully lose the weight gain. She credits maintaining portion control while eating everything in moderation as the key. The actress avoids sugar but understands every food group is important when consumed in balance. Roy hopes sharing her story will help others in similar situations to not feel alone and to regain their health through the right approach. Her resilience is truly inspiring.
