SRINAGAR, Feb 3: Shab-e-Baraat, the night of forgiveness, was observed across the Kashmir Valley on Tuesday night with traditional fervour as special prayers were offered at mosques and shrines, officials said.
Devotees gathered in large numbers at religious places to seek forgiveness and pray for peace, while the occasion was marked with customary rituals across the region.
Shab-e-Baraat, observed two weeks ahead of the holy month of Ramzan, also saw people visiting the graves of their ancestors, where candles were lit and prayers offered.
The observance passed peacefully, reflecting deep spiritual devotion and reverence associated with the sacred night. (Agencies)
