On Sunday morning, security forces launched a cordon and search operation in two villages in Shopian district, south Kashmir.
A police official told Greater Kashmir that columns of army, CRPF and police encircled Keegam and Reshipora villages of the district and started door to door searches.
The operations, according to the official, were conducted after the forces were tipped off about the presence of militants in these villages.
The operations were underway at the time of filing this report
