Ludhiana, August 8: The Shri Amarnath Barfani Langars Organisation (SABLO) has strongly opposed the abrupt pre-closure of the Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2025, which ended 10–11 days ahead of the scheduled closing date, Shravan Purnima. In a detailed press statement, SABLO condemned this move as a violation of religious rights, customs, and the trust of lakhs of pilgrims.
This marks the third or fourth consecutive year that the Yatra has been stopped early, citing vague reasons like bad weather, track damage, or security concerns—claims SABLO called “unconvincing” and “non-transparent.” The organisation questioned how vehicles, officials, and the Chhari Mubarak procession continue if routes are genuinely unsafe for pilgrims.
SABLO emphasized the massive financial and spiritual loss caused to pilgrims, Bhandara organisations, service providers, and vendors. Devotees with biometric registrations and booked accommodations were left devastated, and thousands were deprived of darshan on the sacred Shravan Purnima.
The organisation has demanded:
A written explanation from the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB)
Mandatory 15-day prior notice for any future closures
Transparent publication of weather and security data
A commitment to run the Yatra till the notified date, barring genuine emergencies
Financial compensation of ₹10,000 for each affected pilgrim and ₹5 lakh for each Bhandara organisation
SABLO warned that if these concerns aren’t addressed, it may resort to legal and public recourse to protect the sanctity of the Yatra and the rights of pilgrims and service providers.
