Rain, light snow lash J&K

    On Monday, rain lashed the plains and light snow fell in the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir, according to the meteorological (MeT) department, which predicted fair weather beginning Monday afternoon.

    “Weather will improve from today afternoon. Weather is likely to remain dry till March 10 after which another spell of rain is likely to occur in J&K and Ladakh, said an official of the MeT department.

    Srinagar had 5.4, Pahalgam 1.1 and Gulmarg minus 1.7 as the minimum temperature on the Celsius scale.

     

    Leh town of Ladakh had minus 3.3, Kargil minus 4.2 and Drass minus 9.8 as the night’s lowest temperature.

     

    Jammu had 16.3, Katra 14.2, Batote 8.2, Banihal 5.3 and Bhaderwah 4.9 as the minimum temperature.
