New Delhi, Mar 03: Members of Parliament from National Conference will tomorrow submit their dissenting note over the draft proposals of the delimitation commission.
NC MP from Anantnag Lok Sabha seat, Hasnain Masoodi said that they will tomorrow submit their dissenting note over the proposal of delimitation of J&K's Assembly and Lok Sabha seats.
In its earlier reply submit to the commission, the NC has maintained that there were question marks over the constitutional propriety of the panel especially when the party along with several others had approached the Supreme Court challenging the Centre's August 5, 2019 action of revoking the special status and bifurcating the erstwhile state into Ladakh and J&K.
It is worthwhile to mention that the delimitation commission has asked both NC and BJP MPs to submit their dissenting note, if any, over the draft proposals of the commission. The MPs have also been asked whether they want their dissenting proposals should be published when the draft proposals would be put in public domain.
As already reported, the draft proposals would be put in public domain for feedback immediately after March 4.
On the day when the report would be made public, the commission would issue a notice, asking the general public and other stakeholders to submit their suggestions/objections before a specified date.
The commission would then hold sittings at different places in Jammu and Kashmir for consideration of suggestions/objections received from different stakeholders.
